Initially considered by Thomas to be a “loose”, or “painterly” piece, this painting has become very popular. “Mokulua Milky Way” was reproduced due to customer demand. Part of the Mokulua Island series, it depicts our Milky Way galaxy “splashed” across the sky as the full moon rises between the Mokulua Islands. The glow around the moon and the starry sky have made this painting very unique. The Mokulua Islands are off Lanikai, in Kailua on the island of Oahu in Hawaii; otherwise known as the Twin Islands.
