Every idea starts as a spark of energy that motivates one to create.

How you proceed is an intricate method of organization through prioritization.

Developing a concept requires an open mind and the discipline necessary to restrict judgment while encouraging free thought.

Visual Concept Development takes 3 basic steps:

  1. Concept Definition
  2. Composition
  3. Color

I will elaborate:

  1. CONCEPT DEFINITION - We must first make a list or story that answers the who, what, where, how and why questions. After defining the idea in literal terms, we must proceed to the definition of the idea in visual terms.
  2. COMPOSITION - We must take these words and turn them into pictures and symbols. Then we must arrange them in a balanced manner that is pleasing to the eye, otherwise known as "compositional harmony".
  3. COLOR - The world of color can influence mood, emotion, and effect. The color scheme should enhance the concept definition.

When it comes to developing a concept, Patience Yields Quality; the more time you have, the more insurance you will have that you won't look back later with regret.
